The market in Sa'adah, Yemen which had many Jewish shops and stalls.
Throughout Yemen, Jews were engaged in crafts and commerce, making things for themselves and their Muslim neighbors and selling them as well. One of the areas in which Jews excelled was in making jewelry. Yemenite jewelry is highly sought after and Yemenite jewelry made by Jews is especially valuable. In Sa'adah, like elsewhere in the country, there was a market (suq) in which the Jews were vital members of the economy.
