The village of Sheki (Şəki, שכי, Shaki), Azerbaijan (אזרבייג'ן, Azərbaycan).
Sheki has long been an important silk center. It has been reported that there was an historic community of Jews living here, but there are no visible remnants of any communities. One interviewee reported that this was where Ashkenazi Jews who had fled Nazi advances into USSR territory were initially processed before moving throughout the country.
