Asjen is a rural town surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region of Morocco.[1]
The majority of the cemetery is filled with simple unmarked stones that are haphazardly arranged. The venerated Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan’s (d. 1782) tomb is located at the local cemetery, which many Jewish visitors make pilgrimage (Hiloula) to.[2]
Despite its remote location, Asjen caters to Jewish tourists with an array of hotels, bed and breakfasts, and camping facilities.[3]
