The village of Miqhaya (מקהיאה, المقهاية), Yemen (תימן, اليمن), in the Ibb (אב, اب) region.
The village had about 20 Jewish families who were farmers and some of whom did handcrafts. The synagogue was in the center of the village and it was one large room that was also where the boys would study with the mori. Some Jewish boys, after finishing their studies with the local Jewish teacher, would learn Arabic in the local mosque.
