The Ashkenazim (אשכנזים) Synagogue, which catered to Cairo's Eastern European Jewish community.
Cairo's Ashkenazi Jewish community grew with the arrival of immigrants from Russia, Romania and other countries in the 19th century. This building was founded in 1894 and renovated in 1950. It was burned on November 2, 1945, on the anniversary of the Balfour declaration.
