The village ofMaswar (מסוואר, מסוור, مسور), Yemen, in the Khawlan (כ'אוולאן, כאולאן, خولان) region east of Sana'a.
The village of Maswar had 4 Jewish families who were brothers and they lived in their own area, a bit distant from the Muslim residents of the village.
The village had a synagogue near the Jewish houses and the synagogue was a one story structure that looked like the other buildings and was one large room. Men would sit on the floor in a circle, and there was no room set for ladies.
The Jewish cemetery was about an hour away from the village.
The Jewish residents were tailors and smiths and they would make things farming related for the other residents of Maswar who were farmers.
