The village of Tanam (Tan'im, תנעם, تنعم), Yemen (תימן, اليمن), in the Khawlan (כוולאן, خولان) region.
The village of Tanam had a larger Jewish community than some of the surrounding villages. There were Jewish and Muslim areas to the village but they were nearby and had excellent relations. Tanam had two synagogues, one Baladi and one Shami. One was near the Gahari house (this synagogue was also known as the Tanami synagogue) and the Sfira synagogue. The Bet Midrash where the Mori taught was near Qirwani house. The cemetery was outside of the village. Tahara was done in a house and for mikveh, ladies went to a nearby water source.
