The village of Jihanah (גחאנה,جحانه), Yemen. It is in the Khawlan region, east of Sana'a.
The village had about 11 Jewish families and 2 Muslim families. They had good relations. The village had a synagogue and a mikveh and the Mori would teach the boys in the synagogue. The Jewish men were craftsmen and some owned lands and animals which they farmed. Items they made were sold in Sana'a. The cemetery was about 30 minutes away at the bottom of a mountain. A man with the family name Sayyani was the village silversmith, and there were 2 slaughterers, Aharon and Yosef.
